What is a pilot?
A pilot is someone who flies and operates aircraft, such as airplanes or helicopters, to transport passengers or cargo.
What does a pilot do?
Usually, a pilot does the following:
- Checks the aircraft before and after each flight to make sure it is safe to fly
- Takes off, flies and lands the aircraft
- Communicates with air traffic control and follows their instructions
- Monitors the instruments and systems on the aircraft during the flight
- Ensures the safety of passengers and cargo on board
What does the day-to-day life of a pilot look like?
A pilot's schedule can vary a lot depending on the type of flying they do. Some pilots work on regular schedules, like flying for an airline, while others may have a more flexible schedule, like flying private jets or helicopters for business or leisure purposes. A pilot may spend a lot of time away from home, staying in different cities or countries depending on where they need to fly.
Where does a pilot work?

What tools/software/hardware does a pilot use?
